Flash and JavaScript New Framework Idea
The constant battle between HMTL and Flash constantly rages. Both side blurring once distinct lines in the functionality these technologies provide. I feel that HMTL moves too slow and will not progress if it constantly needs to work on aging or device based browsers. Flash forces its users to upgrade overcoming this problem but hits new problems in that it can not run on most small devices and can not be searched by Google.
I think it is feasible that a framework could be produced to upgrade html elements with small flash movies if it is enabled. I have seen this work with date pickers but a full set of flash controls would be needed. The controls could talk to a hidden field so values could be posted. If javascript or flash is not enabled the normal HTML controls will be left.
